Additional support may be available to cover costs such as childcare, travel and dual accommodation. Students studying mental health nursing, learning disability nursing, radiography (diagnostic and therapeutic), prosthetics and orthotics or orthoptics and podiatry may be eligible for an extra grant of £1000 per year. There's also an Exceptional Support Fund for students facing financial hardship.
Students will still have to pay tuition fees of £9,250 per year (this will be rising to £9,535 from the 2025/26 academic year), though they will still have access to tuition and maintenance loans from Student Finance.
If you are undecided about becoming a nursing student, this extra financial help might make the difference.
