University of Derby

I have loved starting university and I know I made the right decision coming to Derby. The facilities are great and always kept clean, staff are always friendly and supportive. I couldn’t imagine starting this journey anywhere better.

Best- The university facilities all look up to date and fresh. The uni bus is excellent as it is free, Frequent and reliable and can get you to the places you need to access easily! I stayed in the cheapest accommodation, and even then it was always clean, and although it was simple, I have very happy memories in there! My course is excellent and you get great support, however I do think one improvement could be to have more direct teaching time as this is very low! The night life is quite small, however it just depends what you like as I way prefer living somewhere where I can easily go for walks in the peak district than clubbing! Overall I have loved Derby and derby uni and would definitely recommend it!

University of Derby is brilliant. The staff are all lovely and always on hand to help, you are treated as an adult. There is plenty of space within the uni and a variety of food and study areas. The uni is constantly striving to meet the needs of it's students. There is also a gym onsite that you can access at great student prices. The only downside for me as someone who commutes to uni is that the parking is costly although you can access a pass to cheaper parking that is a 10 minute walk from the uni or a free bus ride.
