The campus feels safe and is clean and a nice place to study and work from. Whilst there are some serious issues at the moment surrounding financial strain, staff redundancies, and the need for strikes - the university remains a nice place for the student experience.

They really listen to you, and there’s so many services to reach out too. Especially as I am on a placement year, really helpful

University of Essex has been a pretty good place for me to study overall, especially because of how friendly and diverse it feels. I’ve found it easy to meet people from different backgrounds, and there’s usually something happening on campus which makes student life enjoyable. Most of my lecturers have been supportive and approachable, although I’ve noticed that the teaching can be a bit inconsistent depending on the module

Actually everything academic is fantastic, teachers are really motivated and amazing, facilities are nice and student life is really alive. The only problem is accommodation, so expensive, so inconvenient, so outdated

I love my university. I feel as though my education and academic support is prioritised and they really care for our mental wellbeing whilst achieving this. My essays are always returned efficiently and with quality feedback I can work from. It's clear that the staff are well educated and know what they are talking about. I've genuinely never been happier and im beyond proud to be a student here. Some unis are known as party unis , and this isn't one of them. The environment is calm and peaceful, but having the bar and club on campus allows me to indulge in that part of student life whilst feeling safe, comfortable and not overstepping my boundaries. The environment in always clean, tidy and upkept, it is obvious a great deal of care goes into the campus. I've genuinely never even seen any litter. Which brings me to my next point , the campus itself is located near rolling fields, trees, lakes and which is beyond helpful for your wellbeing. I often find myself walking to my bus stop just appreciating the wildlife roaming around. There's also a great variety of things to take part in but my personal highlight of the week are the Thursday market, where I collect my freshly baked bread for the week. I wish I could give some constructive criticism but I genuinely don't have any negative feedback so far.

I love the university as it has very friendly lecturers and teachers. I have autism so to have a teacher/lecturer that makes me feel like I can talk to them when I need to is very helpful for me.
