Psychology with Criminology (with Foundation Year)

The best aspect for me is knowledge I've learnt, and the worst is finding out my foundation tutor is leaving us in January.

I like Newman university because it is small which I really like and easy for me to get to , and the course I’m studying I really enjoy !!

i think that this university is a great place to study because the lecturers are very supprotive and approachable. there is also a good balance between academic work and personal wellbeing and i like the rescources that are available through the library and access to online matierials such as the moodle website. i dont think there are many improvemnts as there is good and fast communication via emails between students and lecturer and very clear guidance and explanations to what is expected on assignments.

The community within the University has to be the best experience. Including both the lecturers who are brilliant to converse with and the engaging lectures they provide to the student life. The inviting community makes me feel more welcome and comfortable to study here without feeling like I’ll be lost in the shuffle. When focusing on the ‘worst’ aspects not a lot comes to mind. Things feel slow at times in regards to information being passed around and communication from the university as an institute. My lecturers are always engaged and easy to communicate with but I cannot say the same about the university as a whole.

What’s great about my university: The small class sizes make it easier to build good relationships with lecturers, who are generally very understanding and willing to listen. The support for disabled students is also excellent, and I feel well supported overall. What isn’t so good: Sometimes lecturers aren’t fully aware of which students have additional learning needs. For example, I’ve occasionally been asked to speak in front of the whole class, even though my learning plan states that I shouldn’t be asked to do this. Once I explain, lecturers are always understanding and make sure it doesn’t happen again, but it would be helpful if all staff were aware of these details from the start.
