You’ll plan, build and test prototypes in response to a range of stimulating briefs. And you can build on your knowledge and skills with our range of extracurricular options. Gain real-world experience before you graduate with a placement year. The Humber is home to over 350 engineering and process companies, so you’ll be in a prime spot to access a range of placement opportunities.Like all our Engineering courses, Mechanical Engineering shares a common first year, which means you can choose to switch to a different pathway in your second year. It also offers a four-year Integrated Masters (MEng) option. This lets you study a year at postgraduate level on top of your degree.

Where could this take me?Mechanical engineers are highly valued by a range of industries, including nanotechnology, aerospace and windfarms. You’ll learn transferable skills as well as technical knowledge that employers are looking for. Thanks to our accreditations, you’ll be well on your way to becoming an Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer when you graduate. We’re in the process of becoming accredited by the Women in Engineering Society too.
