As a Pakistani international student studying MSc International Media and Management at Bangor University, I can honestly say that choosing Bangor has been one of the best decisions of my life. Moving so far from home was intimidating, but the warmth and support I received here made me feel welcomed from day one. Academically, Bangor has exceeded my expectations. The classrooms and lecture halls are fully equipped with modern projectors, screens, computer systems, microphones and speakers. Studying here feels professional and smooth, almost like being in a real media environment. What helps me the most is that every lecture is recorded and all slides are uploaded on Blackboard afterwards. As an international student, this has been a huge advantage for revision and confidence, especially when learning complex topics. The teaching quality is outstanding. Lecturers genuinely care about our success. They take the time to explain ideas, encourage questions and support us outside class as well. Their approach makes me feel seen, heard and valued as a student. One of my favourite places on campus is the Pontio building. It’s honestly outclass — a beautiful place for studying, relaxing and socialising. There are quiet study spaces, comfortable seating areas, great food options, and plenty of spots to meet friends. Whether you want to get serious work done or simply take a break, Pontio is the perfect place. It’s one of the reasons I enjoy my daily university life so much. The Students’ Union is another reason Bangor feels like home. They organise events, cultural activities and support programmes that bring students together. As someone far from home, these events helped me meet new friends and build a sense of community. The university accommodation has also been a wonderful part of my experience. The halls are clean, safe and well-maintained, with friendly staff always ready to help. For a newcomer in the UK, having such a comfortable living environment feels like a blessing. It truly became my second home. Overall, my journey at Bangor has been enriching, supportive and full of growth. I would wholeheartedly recommend Bangor University to any international student looking for a high-quality, friendly and inspiring place to study.

Firstly, I have found every member of staff so lovely and helpful - I can tell they really care about their students, even ones they don't know! Second of all, the organization of the course is outstanding. I feel extremely confident that the teachers will give me and my peers the level of understanding that we need to excell in our learning, giving us the best opportunities for our future and I thank you all for that. Onto the smaller but still as important areas, the food from teras is so affordable and so delicious, with an amazing view out the front to sit and eat. The student union is awesome, very friendly people with lots of helpful information. Now I guess I should mention some negative aspects. I find the printing system extremely confusing and slightly annoying. Having to add money is a long process, and especially as an international student it can take time to access things like bank accounts - and doing a masters things need to be printed alot. So, if a system could be created where we don't have to use money straight away or if there was some kind of token system? Just throwing out ideas. One thing that really gets to me is the cashless system! What is this!?! Cash needs to be around it is so much easier. So much less hassle, you can view what you are spending and especially for some people, they just don't like technology. I find it unfair that the uni has taken this stance, not considering peoples personal situations. So, if the uni could re introduce cash and have an easier printing system, it would be perfect! The university has very nice and friendly staffs both academic and non academic staffs. Beautiful serene environment with modern day facilities.one thing I love soo much again is that the lecturers do all within their powers to see u learn, they just want to see that you not struggling to catch up.

staffs here are all very supportive and friendly. And the courses/modules were designed very well. however, maybe provide some information about the activities of learning Welsh or student services for improving academic writing, especially the last one is necessary for most international students. another thing is maybe the information about public transportation, buses, taxis etc. it's my first time to learn that you only can take a taxi by dialling ahead.

Bangor University is cool and authentic. It's a big place and there's much to do if you're up for it. No complaints about the Uni, the people here are kind and supportive. My program is great and my supervisor is a legend. The city of Bangor is a bit of a let down though. It's experiencing a crisis and there's just not much to do here. It's well connected to the Northern part of Wales and West England isn't too far, but most of the time you will be in Bangor and this can be underwhelming. Students make the most of it.
