Civil engineers design and build major structures and provide the skills and expertise to design, build and maintain the country’s infrastructure. This programme’s strengths lie in its synthesis of scientific enquiry, engineering design and creative problem solving to tackle the challenging and complex real-life problems encountered by professional civil engineers.You will take part in a week long residential, construction project, 'Constructionarium', where you will build scaled versions of iconic buildings using a range of construction materials. You will take part in the five week multi-disciplinary Interact project with Architecture and Quantity Surveyor students from Glasgow School of Art and Glasgow Caledonian University respectively. There are several engineering-focused student societies, including Glasgow University Civil Engineers (GUCE) and the Female Engineering Society (FemEng)The MEng programme satisfies the requirement to apply to become a Chartered (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) upon successful completion.
