This ensures you are exposed to the full range of opportunities which a degree in Chemistry can offer.Teaching is informed by our current excellence in research, in areas such as natural products, materials engineering, and medicine, and the Chemistry Department is currently working on vital projects such as delivering clean water and sanitation and affordable, clean energy in the developing world.On this three-year course, you will have the opportunity to study the main branches of chemistry - organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry and instrumental and analytical techniques. The BSc Chemistry course will develop both your theoretical and practical skills, including lab classes that incorporate a blended, e-learning pre-lab workshop to ensure that you are confident and competent to work in the labs safely and efficiently. You will also be able to use the innovative pre-lab simulation to practise lab skills in your own time.This degree is also offered as a four-year course, with a year in industry (F101) or with a year abroad (F106).
