The full-time MBA, specialising in human resource management, fast-tracks career growth by honing leadership and strategic management skills. Tailored for HR enthusiasts, it prepares you for management roles, fostering global competitiveness. Core units cover professional practice, resource management, and strategy, while specialised units delve into corporate innovation and international HR management. The course runs over three semesters with six entry points through the year. The point at which you join the course determines the order of the units you study.
What will you study?
Studying our MBA (Human Resource Management) will equip you with the specialist knowledge and skills for strategic human resource management, responsible leadership, and HR analytics in the modern business world. You will gain a deep understanding of how to manage people, foster organisational growth, and drive HR practices that align with business objectives. Our unit in Responsible Leadership and Sustainable Management will allow you to explore contemporary global leadership challenges, apply principles of ethical decision-making, and develop strategies for managing diverse and inclusive workforces responsibly.
You will also examine the global landscape of HR practices in our Global Human Resource Strategies in the Connected World unit. Here, you will learn about the complexities of global HR operations, including talent management, employee engagement, and cross-cultural leadership. This unit addresses key challenges such as managing a diverse workforce, aligning global HR strategies with business goals, and fostering organisational resilience in a rapidly evolving global environment.
Our unit in Strategy: Analysis and Practice, is further enhanced your application of strategic management principles to address real-world HR and organisational challenges. By working with case studies and simulations, you will develop critical thinking and decision-making skills, enabling you to create and implement strategies effectively in a competitive global marketplace.
Additionally, our HR Analytics unit will provide you with the tools to leverage data for improved decision-making in talent acquisition, workforce planning, and employee performance management. You will learn how to use HR analytics to drive data-led transformations and align HR functions with broader organisational goals.
You will also complete a final MBA Applied Project, where you will integrate your HR knowledge to work on a consultancy project tailored to your specialisation. Guided by academic experts, you will apply research and innovative thinking to solve complex business problems. Throughout the course, you will also benefit from a variety of extra-curricular activities, such as guest lectures, industry visits, and networking events that will enhance your learning experience and prepare you for leadership roles in human resource management.
Careers
On completing your MBA you will be well placed to fill a wide range of positions particularly within the HR sector. Your team-working skills analytical abilities and understanding of management will be attractive to employers. You would be expected to enter into mid-level management careers in SMEs and larger organisations or start your own business.
If you wish at a later point in your career you may pursue a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA).
Applicants should have 2.2 honours degree or equivalent in a related subject area.
