The full-time MBA, specialising in logistics and supply chain management, accelerates career growth by refining leadership and strategic management skills. Tailored for logistics enthusiasts, it prepares you for management roles, fostering global competitiveness. Core units cover professional practice, resource management, and strategy, while specialised units delve into logistics and supply chain management. The course runs over three semesters with six entry points through the year. The point at which you join the course determines the order of the units you study.
What will you study?
Studying our Business Administration (Logistics and Supply Chain Management) MBA will equip you with the specialist knowledge and skills for strategic supply chain management, responsible leadership and a digital business acumen. You will have the opportunity to engage in live supply chain projects with leading employers from diverse sectors and as a result, build on your personal and professional growth. Our unit in Logistics and Supply Chain Management will allow you to apply creative problem-solving skills and to critically analyse real-world supply chain issues and challenges, contemporary developments, strategies and best practices in supply chain management and logistics. This will allow you to develop a strong understanding of integrated supply chain and logistics management, how it is used to achieve competitive differentiation and advantage, and how enterprises coordinate the procurement, manufacturing, distribution and transportation to run a successful business.
You will also look at this on a global scale in our Global Supply Chain Management unit. Here, you will build an understanding of the characteristics and challenges of global supply chains alongside its strategies and operations. This includes looking at key components of global supply chain management, from sourcing, logistics and distribution to risk mitigation and uncertainties in global supply chains. Completing this unit will mean that you have gained the integrated management skills to build resilient, customer-focused supply chains in complex and global business environments. Through incorporating insights from business ethics, sustainability studies and organisational behaviour, you will develop a holistic view of Responsible Leadership and Sustainable Management. In this unit, you will explore contemporary global challenges based on real-world case studies while applying the principles of ethical decision-making and effective stakeholder engagement.
This relates to our unit in Strategy: Analysis and Practice where you will be equipped with the practical knowledge of strategic management which you can use to execute effective strategies against business challenges. Working with real-world scenarios created using strategic simulations, you will learn to critically evaluate data sources and industry information to practice making informed strategic decisions in a controlled environment. Finally, you will complete an MBA Applied Project that will allow you to integrate your knowledge and understanding of business and management with an opportunity to work on a live consultancy project relevant to your specialism in logistics and supply chain management. You will work with an academic lead to apply your research and enhance management and business practice through independent, work-based consultancy.
Careers
On completing your MBA you will be well placed to fill a wide range of positions particularly within the logistics and supply chain sector. Your team-working skills analytical abilities and understanding of management will be attractive to employers. You would be expected to enter into mid-level management careers in SMEs and larger organisations or start your own business.
If you wish at a later point in your career you may pursue a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA).
Applicants should have 2.2 honours degree or equivalent in a related subject area.
