The location of the university is good because it’s very central and bang in the middle of everything! The facilities are amazing. Which is so good for all the creative people who need a place to thrive in this world! The studios have good equipment in each subject and I’m very proud of this! I also love that the university is very diverse and inclusive of everyone. The structure of the courses I don’t think is too great, there is a lot of learning of things you don’t think are necessary and less learning of the subject you are actually studying which has been a bit deflating.. would love more time using the facility’s and studios but we rarely get opportunities. And haven’t been taught much of our subjects we have had to self teach a lot which has been extremely overwhelming. The prices of the food in the campus canteen are also quite high I’ve struggled to purchase much which I didn’t think would be the case. I think if they improved these prices student life would be more bearable.

The best parts of my course are the access to the studios which isn’t anything I’ve experienced before and don’t have any of that at home. I also love the projects and how satisfied you feel after completing something and being proud of all your hard work. I’ve liked how some of the lectures have been online because experiencing it from the comfort of your own home has been nice because it would feel like a waste of time going all the way in for something short. However the lectures have been really hard to understand and focus on because they aren’t anything to do with the course and it takes up quite a lot of your uni learning experience because we aren’t really taught that much in our subjects.. which has been hard to digest. But have accepted it now. I like that my course isn’t every day in campus as that would be so stressful as you have so much home work to do! but I think the classes should have been more one on one learning with the tutors. I’ve never really felt that connection or support from a tutor other than one and we only have him for a few hours a week. Sometimes the tutors don’t even come to you and it’s easy to feel ignored and invisible.

I think the location of the uni is good because it’s right next to the town centre which is so nice for students to go and pop to shops when they need to, or meet friends in the shopping mall after class. It’s also quite close to bus stops and 10 minutes walk to the train station which makes it extremely accessible. I don’t particularly love the city as a whole I don’t think there’s much going on and my experience has been a bit depressing as I haven’t found anything that exciting to do.
