The library is probably my favourite place on campus because they have specific rooms for studying where there is silence so you can choose to either sit out in the main areas and study with your friends or have some peace and quiet to yourself so you can really focus. It's very well stocked too and for anything that isn't there, you can talk to a member of staff and get it ordered in for you. I think the only bad thing I can think of is the peer pressure to drink. I personally choose not to because I don't enjoy it but a lot of events seem to centre around getting tipsy and having a good time. One thing that has made this a bit better for me is the introduction of mocktails into one of the bars at the Union (if they have the ingredients in that is). I feel that while alcohol is very central to a lot of people's uni experience, there are still quite a few people to who it doesn't apply to like myself, maybe some for religious reasons, maybe some who are still underage. I just think alternatives should be promoted just as much.

I really enjoy being able to explore my ideas creatively. It's been quite hard doing very academic subjects for such a long time because I feel like my creativity has been stifled. Thankfully, my creative writing classes have finally come up this year as a choice and I took them eagerly. I really like the continuous assessment instead of exams because it works really well with my learning style. My only criticism of online lectures would be making them available in different formats. When it's just a blank screen with a voice talking over it I cannot in any way pay attention because there's nothing on the screen for my brain to latch on to. So the "podcast" format doesn't work for me. Having presentation slides would work a lot better. Or even just the lecture transcript so I could read through it at my own pace.

Very good value for money. Nice sized room with my own private bathroom and shower. Nice views too. The only downsides were mainly caused by the people. The walls and ceilings are rather thin so you can hear an awful lot of potentially scarring things. There needs to be a better way of allocating flatmates because I swear I picked to live with people who were clean and tidy and they were anything but. We had fruit flies. Multiple times. And it was never my fault because I was never the person who would leave raw chicken out on the countertops or mouldy dishes in the sink for days on end. So yes. The flat was brilliant but the people were questionable.
