I love the location as Dundee is a lovely size, you can walk pretty much everywhere. The facilities are great and easy to access. Dundee really cares about student's compared to unis like Edinburgh and St Andrews which rely on their reputation to bring students in rather than student satisfaction

The main studio module is really good - our workshops are amazing and the tutors are really, really helpful. We only have a couple of days of contact time with our tutors each week but you can usually find them if you need to. The coxtual module on the otherhand is not great. It has continued to be online despite the fact that all teaching has returned to in person. The tutor support is not great and the assignments are not explained very clearly

Dundee is super walkable, almost everything you need is within a 20 minute walk. There's a Lidl and a big Tesco as well as several Tesco Expresses dotted throughout the city. We do have a shopping centre although if that something you care about, it's not very big. The riverfront is beautiful to walk along, especially in the evening when the sun is setting (Dundee is supposed to be the sunniesy city in Scotland after all). The park, Magdalen Green has beautiful views of the the Tay and the rail bridge. The nightlife in Dundee is pretty good although I'm not the best person to ask about that. My favourite thing about it is that I don't need to worry about taxis or busses after a night out, I can just walk home. The union was amazing in first year because it feels extremely safe. I hadn't turned 18 yet so it was great to be able to go (even if I couldn't drink) and not completely miss out. Dundee is small but I find it perfect for being a student, I would find a bigger city like Edinburgh overwhelming when getting my bearings on adult life.

I felt very safe in halls but if there was ever an issue there was always campus security who you could call. If anything broke or we were unsure about things, you could just pop down to reception or email them and they were super happy to help you out. Seabraes 1 - 32 (known amomg students as old Seabraes as it had been built first), had been refurbished the summer before I moved in so the bedrooms were lovely The kitchens hadn't been but really I had no problem with it, the walls weren't the most beautiful colour but we had plenty of space - 2 sinks, 2 hobs, 2 fridges for 6 people. There was lots of storage space in the room although I will say, the rooms in each flat aren't all the same, I had one of the smallest ones. If you're lucky you might end up with a huge room with a full double instead of a small double. Despite having a smaller room, I didn't have an issue with storage space and had a huge desk. The bathroom was on-suite which was lovely in first year when I didn't yet know my flatmates but I wouldn't say it's essential. The location was perfect, we were only a five minute walk from the big Tescos and then a five minute walk (if that) to Djcad and a 7ish minute walk to the main campus. Seabraes was a bit quieter because unlike Belmont and Heathfield which were right on campus next to the union and the Institute of Sport and Exercize, we were tucked down closer to the river.
