I've returned to the University of Staffordshire to study for a MA. The campus is local to where I live and the facilities are excellent. There are places to eat, drink and study in comfort, and there is access to the necessary technology. The student support is responsive and friendly and the teaching staff have been friendly, demanding and motivating - all of which have been a huge source of support. The course is run on a hybrid basis, combining in person and distance learners. More could be done to combine these two groups and build bridges between them. I think this would particularly benefit those who are learning online. I have been an in person learner but have only made the acquaintance and built relationships with those who were present in the classroom. I think that technological changes that made it easier for interactions to take place between these two groups and forums put in place for them to mingle and discuss ideas would help both groups. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff who have taught me, helped me to develop the academic skills that I need for this course and have encouraged me in the work I have done. I have met people and will come away with friends I would not otherwise have met. I have done this course part time while working and though I'm not seeking to change careers, it has helped me to develop transferable skills which I can now bring to my workplace and which enhance what I can bring to the organisation that I work for.

The teaching time and content was excellent, and was for the most part well structured, clear and helpful without spoon-feeding information. The range of modules were eclectic and interesting. The tutors were approachable and were accessible after each seminar. Arranging contact time with tutors was straightforward to do by request in an informal way, but the system for booking an appointment with them via the online booking system was hard to access - it seemed to need to be provided by email. I was aware of having an academic mentor, but I seemed to need to seek out that person if I wanted to speak to them, and at no time on the course was I introduced to them, or given an idea of what their remit was. The course could be improved by that role being introduced in the induction and the system for accessing it being explained (possibly with occasional meetings being set up by the academic mentor). As I said in the previous section, I have been taught by several people and I have found them all motivating, friendly and talented people.

I think the facilities are really wonderful and open with minimal distracting.
