Southampton Solent University is an overall great place for students to study, offering excellent facilities, supportive staff, and a diverse learning environment. The university provides a practical approach to education, ensuring students gain real-world experience alongside their academic studies. However, student life could be enhanced by offering more social events, parties, and get-togethers. These activities would help students connect, build friendships, and create a stronger sense of community on campus. With a livelier student social scene, Solent University would become an even more enjoyable and well-rounded place to study.

The course is overall perfect, offering a well-structured learning experience. The balance between in-class sessions and independent study provides flexibility while ensuring students gain a thorough understanding of the subject. The course hours are manageable, allowing time for both academic work and personal commitments. Additionally, the contact with lecturers is excellent, with approachable and supportive staff who are always ready to help with any questions or concerns.

I love the overall look of the uni itself, it makes being there so much more enjoyable and nicer to be in. The lecturers are great, I like the fact that they have professional experience working in the field which is so helpful. The uni has really good industry like equipment available for us to use, preparing us for a job after university. However, I went to the student hub for a careers drop in after cancelling appointments, but due to staff shortages I’ve had to make another appointment.

I think it is great that I have the option to do a work placement/year abroad as I am not completely sure what I want to do after uni, so I think this will really benefit me, and get me experience in the field I want. I love a lot of the topic we’re learning, especially about behaviour and the brain. But I wish we had more actual time in uni rather than online lectures, as for some things I feel like the teaching would be better as some of the videos can be pointless (one time only YouTube videos were put on- I can search those up for free) and sometimes that hasn’t been any lecture videos at all. Plus I feel like it would be more with the money and it’s not Covid any more

I was right next the the main common room on the bottom floor so was always noisy and had stupid people knocking in the doors thinking it was funny. Fire alarm went off literally every other day. Kitchen okay as shared with only 4 people and all relatively clean. Room okay to be living in.
