It seems as though there is always something going on. Whether you have experience in something or are looking to try something new, Leeds Beckett is always buzzing with things to do. However, I wish there were more options for gluten-free food that is also affordable, as well as more community support with mental health, as my anxiety really restrains me from participating with things.

I am attending full-time, 4 days a week. I am grateful for what is taught in the lessons, and the skills we develop, even though they seem insignificant in the moment, really do help in multiple areas. My only issue really is I don't feel exactly "connected" to the tutors. Compared to secondary school/A-Level, there is a bit more personal contact, but not nearly as much as I had hoped.

Coming from someone who has grown up in quiet areas, I absolutely loved coming into the vibrant city of Leeds. I was doubting my choice as we (my parents and I) drove into Leeds, but once we got past all the rough parts, the architecture here is actually beautiful - especially at night; I remember my first night here, being amazed at the lights outside my window, despite being a 15-minute walk from the actual city centre. Of course, it can be very dangerous, especially at night when you're alone. I luckily haven't encountered this sort of thing, but I have heard others not being safe at night or in nightclubs (watch your drinks!) However, the wide range of shops, as well as some nice areas to just sit, make it worth it.

What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
I liked the University's system for allowing people to see who they would be moving in with before booking. and, on paper, it would seem like a nice place to be, but it has really underwhelmed me. It is high compared to other properties I have looked at for next year, and is increasing even more in price next year. Kitchen space is fine (so long as you secure YOUR space in the kitchen cupboards before other people do, though I guess that is standard for any accommodation), but it comes with no iron, despite having a board, making them pretty much useless for students needing to save money. I like that all bills are included, but, as I've said before, the price is way too high for the quality here. There are 2 vending machines (one I believe has been out of order for a while), the courtyard is especially dull, with some stone slab seating areas that people barely use because of how dull it is, and a table top that no one really uses either. The circuit app too used for washing clothes is too expensive, especially since I've viewed other accommodations with lower prices, and with how much I'm spending to be here. Despite all this, it is an easy 15-minute walk to the uni/town centre.
