Tell us about your overall university experience so far.
Overall, my university experience has been really good. The lecturers are good teachers, the practical sessions are really fantastic and the assignments set are actually really enjoyable. The course has adapted well to the Covid situation and has even sent kit to our homes so we can continue our practical sessions at home which was great. It's easy to talk to and contact the lectures when we have queries. I would highly recommend this course!
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
Hand sanitiser is located across the building in the most convenient places and the building is generally clean itself. There is disabled access in most places and each facility is up to date and modern. Equipment hire of laptops in the library is especially useful.
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
There is accessibility to wellbeing support, disability support, mental health support and finance support etc and it's easy to find out how to access this support. Access to the support is also quick and easy.
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
The course is taught through a series of pre-recorded lectures online which alternate each week with a live question and answer session. I find this useful because i can get through the lectures at my own pace in my own time and prepare any questions i have to ask at the live sessions.
The teaching hours are on the lower end so there is plenty of time for hanging out with friends and completing assignments. Once a week for one hour you meet with your tutorial group which is good to discuss questions and course content.
How many contact hours per week do you have?
10
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
Career service activities is integrated into the course and is very helpful when searching for placements and jobs. There is plenty of support from the team at the University that handles careers and placements and I have accessed this help on multiple occasions and the standard of help has been good.
