I am a first-year student at Oxford Brookes University, and I'm quite enjoying my experience so far. I've rated the campus as 5 stars for its looking and feel. As my classes are primarily held at the Business School building and the main Headington campus, I can't speak to the other campuses' qualities since I haven't visited them. The main campus is located a 45-minute walk from the city centre, which may be a downside for some. However, you can apply for free bus passes that allow students to get to the city centre within a 15-minute bus ride (sometimes 30-35 minutes if you’re stuck in a traffic jam). Regarding student life, the university offers a big variety of societies, making it really easy to meet new people and make friends. During my first semester, I thoroughly enjoyed attending social events organized by the societies I joined. The university provides a diverse range of sports activities which students can do and even try for the first time which I found as a good opportunity to explore new interests. Also, the teachers at Brookes were very supportive and approachable throughout my semester. Overall, I'm enjoying my time at Brookes, but since it's only my first year, I hesitate to make a definitive judgment.

The content of the course I'm undertaking is good. All classes are conducted in person, but meetings with student advisers are always available online but if you require assistance outside of scheduled meetings, just book an appointment with your student adviser. I've rated the lectures and teaching quality at 4 stars as each lecture typically lasts about an hour, sometimes even less, around 50 minutes. This duration was surprising to me, as I've heard from friends at other universities that their lectures often run for 1.5 to 2 hours. In terms of career prospects, Oxford Brookes has a high employability percentage post-graduation, which is very encouraging.

The Warneford Hall accommodation offered by Oxford Brookes University seems to be the cheapest option available compared to others. I ended up being allocated here because I applied at the last minute, and it was the only available option. However, despite this, I've found some positive aspects to it. The location of Warneford Hall is excellent, being just a 5-minute walk from the main campus, which I find very convenient for attending classes and accessing university facilities. Also, for those who enjoy running, like myself, there's the added benefit of having South Park nearby, although it's worth noting that the park is relatively small. One downside I've encountered is the limitation on receiving deliveries. Unfortunately, items cannot be delivered to the main office of the halls; instead, they must be delivered directly to your door. This can be somewhat inconvenient and may result in orders being returned if they are not addressed properly. Overall, despite some drawbacks, Warneford Hall offers affordable accommodation in a convenient location for students at Oxford Brookes University.

Love university life here, the John Henry Brookes building is incredible and the facilities there are second to none. The recent news that the Wheatley campus will be no longer used for teaching with the change starting this year is great for the business school. It is a great place to live and has a good city/space balance.
