The best aspects are the helpful and friendly teaching staff, I find them very helpful with international students like myself. But I think it could be improved by a more organised teaching module and a more structured schedule.

I do all my classes offline, once online. I think the course hours are good, not too busy since we only go in 3 days a week. I like that teaching staff give us time for individual study.

The facilities are generally good and the buildings are really modern with large lecture theatres and plenty of areas to work independently. The library is open 24/7 which is pretty useful and there’s lots of cafes to grab quick lunches. It’s only 10minute walk into the main part of Manchester and lots of shops around, so the location is really good. Well-being support is really good as well they get back to you really quickly. Student halls could do with a bit of a touch up e.g paint on walls peeling some appliances not working but the maintenance and on-site staff are quick at resolving any requests. Lots on offer for students like activities and sports reslife do a lot throughout the year for students living in halls and the union also have lots of student nights with different things to do. Teaching wise the staff are generally good some are more involved than others, however some times things are last minute like timetables being released and emails, but that might just depend on your course. Overall, it is a good university with lots on offer, has good accommodation with modern design and appliances and it’s in a great location with train station nearby and bus stops all around.

For first year the course content is good you learn a lot about software and how to use the likes of vectorworks and photoshop. They give a lot of support when finding placements and advice for interviews. Hear lots of stories of past students going into practices across the world and there’s a lot of potential prospects. Tutor contact time varies because of the amount of people on the course it is difficult to get 1 to 1 support however you can email questions but there’s a delay in replies depending on the tutor. Facilities are really good in the art school there’s so much to offer and you share with all years so you can gain advice from 2nd or 3rd years on the unit you are doing, which is useful.
