My experience as a student who has never attended university and started studying late in life has been very positive. I enjoy being on campus, where everyone is friendly. Every member of the learning team and additional staff I have interacted with has been wonderful. However, I am disappointed with the lack of engagement for mature students and/or distance learners. Everything is geared towards younger students. Opportunities for recruitment, assistance, etc., are geared towards younger students. I would like to see something for people who are changing careers or older students in general as we are facing different challenges.

While the content of the course is good, I would really like to have the option of completing the course within one year. Furthermore, I would like to see a higher level of engagement with long distance learners. Our blackboard chats are quite quiet, and it can be quite isolating following a course from a distance. The university should provide the option of blending online and on campus instruction, or at least a Zoom option, etc. It may be necessary for participants to interact and exchange ideas during some modules.
