University rating
Tell us about your overall university experience so far.
UEA is a brilliant campus based university in beautiful surroundings giving it a real community, family feel. With everything you need on campus, it's like one huge home with fantastic facilities and a buzzing vibe. The perfect place to study, relax, socialise and have fun - and attempt to chase a rabbit or two!
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
library, city's largest sports centre, 2 pubs/bar, a huge club that doubled as a gig venue, cafes, restaurants, laundrette, supermarket, bank, GP - there was everything you needed on campus! Even had our own radio station where the famous Greg James started!
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
facilities on site for all issues/concerns to support students
Students' union
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
with a huge on-campus student union including 2 pubs, 1 club and gig venue and cafes/restaurants on site, everything you needed was within 5 minutes of your lecture hall, all set within the infamous square!
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
a gorgeous city mixing the old with the new - cobbled alleyways and vintage shops, or a modern shopping centre. Very student friendly - a brilliant nightlife with loads of student offers.
Beautiful!
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
if you had a hobby, there was a club or society for it! If you didn't have a hobby, you would find one!
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
with a choice of so many modules within each course, you have the flexibility to focus on your own preferred path - the lectures are all wonderful - professional and a fountain of knowledge in their specialty, but friends too and people you can trust.
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
I studied for a Drama degree at UEA - which was listed as the number 1 university for this degree! Gives you lots of opportunity to bulk out your CV leading to hundreds of job opportunities from all fields.
University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
with a choice of accommodation types, all on campus, you only had to walk 5 minutes to reach wherever you needed to go in your first year. Spacious, clean and safe and lots of fun to be had with your housemates! Loads of student accommodation available off campus after your freshers year, still within popular areas local to campus
