The university feels quite student-focused with all it offers. Such as the plethora of clubs and student union events, the speediness in the help offered by the student disability office. Just about everything I need can be found on campus, which is so important to me as an international student who just arrived in the country. The convenience store is expensive though, and doesn't carry much variety. The clinic could be better. My dorm is on opposite end of campus from the clinic, and I have to walk to get there, which is painful to have to do when walking there with a limp. It also took over a month to get me registered since I couldn't send the registration form before arriving in the country, and was complicated by the fact that I don't have a UK phone number. Thankfully the necessity of an emergency appointment sped up my registration, but it still took a few weeks before they took my pain seriously enough to not make me wait several weeks to wait for treatment.

I have this one course that has changed room twice. The first two rooms had poor wifi connection, and the change to the third room was made with such short notice that many classmates got lost for a bit finding the room. I myself didn't receive the professor's announcement of the room change until after we had our first class in the room. Sometimes I find myself a bit bored in class from not feeling challenged by the material the professor is currently talking about. But I have to stay alert because the majority of the material is new to me. Sometimes more readings are assigned then feels necessary, but thankfully non-english in-person classes are only supplemented by readings rather than necessary for class, so I can learn just as much wether I complete the readings before or after class.

Living in an on-campus dorm has been so instrumental to my studies due to the facilities offered around campus, especially as an international student who just arrived in the country. My dorm looks like cheap student housing, such as the rusty shower door, tiny bedrooms, and wall paint that cracks on its own. The kitchen counter space is limited, as there are four people, but there's only enough space for two people to cook at the same time. It's not cheap compared to the cheap look though. However, it's a central location, and I get a 24 hour security team that responds quickly, access to a maintenance team, and a janitor that comes once a week. The kitchen table is better for hosting guests than actually eating meals there, as there is a wrap around couch instead of chairs, but the table is a coffee table that's as high off the floor as the seat cushions. I have to sit on the floor if I want to eat at the table without holding myself bent over. There's also no elevator. I may not be a wheelchair user, but I can only get two bags of groceries when grocery shopping due to needing to walk several minutes then go up three flights of stairs with my groceries. It's an experience that sucks when I'm having chronic pain or an asthma flare up. The experience has me paying extra to Uber deliver groceries if I need more than a couple items from the campus convenience store, despite being a broke college student.
