The archaeology department at York is excellent! All of the lecturers have a great passion for their subject and the pastoral care is outstanding. The facilities offered to archaeology students allows a broad range of modules and research opportunities to be offered. The teaching and learning structure allows you to get to grips with huge paradigms and analyse the minutia of the discipline. The feel of campus is wonderful, there’s a real sense of community and camaraderie present. Overall, the experience at the University of York is absolutely brilliant!

Be sure to get your application in early to ensure you get your first choice accommodation! Put yourself out there and talk to your flatmates, they’re essentially your family away from home and people in the wider college community!

It's quiet and yet others are present so insentivises me to study well.

I enjoy a lot of the hands on practical work I get to do and many of lecturers are very good. Though often I feel like I am covering the same information over again.

I often find it more diverse, than my experience, though this may be speaking more of my background than the actual diversity of York
