I have been at Arts university for nearly 4 years now studying 3 different courses, over this period of time I have never felt more welcome then my time here. There are many things that make this place not just great but amazing and worth it some examples of this would include: how welcoming it is with not only the courses but with social activities that get held weekly to bring people together, Involvement in workshops to help explore different paths and opportunities, assistance with CVs and job opportunities and the support given to students is immaculate. Being a student here myself with Autism, ADHD and Tourette’s this university had allowed me to feel comfortable expressing myself not only physically but also through the art is compose. They are also very understanding with not only non visible disabilities but also visible, introducing new ways and methods to make things easier throughout our time there offering support and one on one sessions if needed without out pressure to do so. Some other ways this place is great is how you are able to access a great range of books and resources and high tech computers with apps accessible for us to use to achieve our expectations. Something I believe this university can improve on would be to have availability to book out laptops with the same additional apps to use as some of us aren’t able to use the computers or aren’t able to take notes during lecture and do computer work without having to travel far from the classroom where you are not able to know when to come back for important information being given out. Another would be the availability to access photoshop and all the other apps outside the university as some of us have to travel quite far just to do some or little adjustments on photoshop etc, when we are already paying a lot to even study the course we are on.

My first year so far of Interior design and styling has been quite a journey and very new to me, I have been introduced to a wide range of concepts, information and knowledge I didn’t know before this course. The teachers/Lecturer's have been very welcoming and understanding with the whole process offering support and time to help out and don’t pressure anything's and give opportunities for people to come closer within the course involving small activities involving communication and group activities. When in a lecture we are always introduced to objectives we would be covering and a break down of what and how we would be able to achieve them in our own ways, they also allow questions during or after the slides incase people are stumbled and don’t understand something or too shy to ask in front of everyone. As for the course hours I believe they are just the right hours we need, and allows people from if they travelled far to emerge themselves better with the environment and feel comfortable and to also have the opportunity to allow time for students to catch up and do in-depth work or research and to either study within the premises or at home to suit what fits people best to concentrate and feel more comfortable with.

The staff ,across the campus, are friendly, exceptionally supportive, extremely helpful and hugely knowledgeable. Being a student at AUP is akin to being nurtured and taught by members of a wider, caring family. Being a small University, it is understandable that space is at a premium for creative students (sculpture etc.); more space would be most welcome.

Tutors and University managers regularly invite feedback from students and demonstrably incorporate into AUP teaching methods such student feedback as well as learned best practice in teaching methods from other teaching institutions.

Plymouth's reputation as a City of Creatives is undoubtedly in the ascendency. There are a great many opportunities opening up, whether this be in the form of group creative initiatives or Civic supported community initiatives set up by local residents (e.g. Nudge) to bring unloved buildings back into creative community usage, as well as the emergence of progressive, cutting edge galleries (e.g. Karst) and a n award-winning museum, art gallery and archive with a 2022 European Museum of the Year Special Commendation.
