The three things that make the University of Leeds a great place to study are:
1) The availability of opportunities to explore the great outdoors (that's really important for me)
2) The supportiveness of the faculty
3) All learning resources can be accessed online!
What can be improved?
1) I like learning on my own, so really long lectures are not for me. It would be nice if we were just assigned a reading, and then we can discuss it in class

I love it how the administration is always on top of things. A few weeks ago, a pipe burst in Carlton Hill, and we had no water for a while. I thought the problem would last for a couple of days. They were able to fix it in a few hours.

The University of leeds is located in the beautiful city of leeds. It is central and a few minutes walk to the city center. It really just makes things easy when you need to shop or unwind or even just take a stroll.
As an international student, arriving at the university for the first time left me speechless. I remember my first day, the coach had dropped us off at Parkinson steps, all I could say was 'wow" I had seen pictures but it felt different physically. This may not make any difference to home students but it certainly did to me.
The university was very hospitable to us as international students. A team of students welcomed us at the airpot with snacks water and some sweets. A coach picked us up from the airpot and dropped us off in leeds. It was really thoughtful of the school. It saved us so much extra expenses and the journey was comfortable too. The team also helped each one of us get rides to take us to our respective accommodations. I was really touched by this because I had no idea how to get to my accommodation at the time and it was very comforting to find help with this. I soon found out that most student residences are situated around the university or some short distance away and this makes it easy to get to classes.
I find the Leeds university union to be very supportive and the frequent newsletters can be very informative and cover a vast area of student needs.
I love using the libraries, it's comfortable and meets my needs. I usually use the group study rooms or booths with my friends and i find it wonderful. It's a good combination of privacy, comfort and access to large screens. some of the school libraries even run for 24 hours.
I also like the activities at the edge gym in the university campus especially the pool. It would be great if the gym membership could be subsidized further for students to encourage more persons to start or continue their fitness journey.
There are so many great things I love about the university of leeds, I could honestly go on but space and time will not permit me.

Personally, I find the teaching sessions in my department practical and very rich in knowledge. The teachers encourage knowledge and opinion based class interactions.
Typically every session encourages one form of group work and for me this helps with critical thinking and improves my understanding of the subject.
Also, there are different reading materials available for each subject taught and a variety of resources to help with learning.
Usually before each teaching session the powerpoint presentations are available. this encourages pre session reading and familiarization with the subject. The lecture slides always contain additional reading references to further explore the topic and I find these really helpful.
one of my best features yet is the fact that the lectures are recorded and saved online so I can always go back for reviews. It has definitely improved my learning.
Many resources are also available on the online library. It is easy to use with a very user friendly navigation space. I find it very easy to book a study space or reach out for help to a librarian or a statistician and it is simply seamless. I just love how the online library has helped with my research so far. All the databases available and within reach. It just makes reading and research easier for me. I wish there was a way Leeds Alumni could still have access to this research resources.
My personal tutor has also been very helpful. Whenever I reached out with a question or for a challenge, I got prompt response with very helpful answers. It felt great to also get the much needed career advice and mentorship from my school through my personal tutor.
Overall, I enjoy studying at My University.
