It's a great way to study, because the facilities are very modern so we can participate in class as groups and use different materials to study, and its very easy to access wherever you live! I am from the north so it is a journey to get down to but where I live during the year is next door to the university so it is very easy! The feel and look of the place is amazing and the sports facilities are great too! The only thing that could be improved maybe to do with student support is the counceling as there is a very long waiting list and when I needed help straight away, I had to wait a long time. And, I just having someone there to talk about anything either education or personal life related would be good too, as a PAT is amazing but mainly I think its for education and grades and things. But overall, I love my university, the teachers and students, the facilities and the general university life!

Very good! We always have class when scheduled and it is always in person, and during covid, it was always in person as well, with precautionary measures. The teachers are always available to contact during the year unless on holiday, and even when they are away, there are other teachers who can help with the same problem. I think that the course hours are great and we even get extra hours of language speaking with international speakers too, which has been the most beneficial for me.

The town is great for me as a student as it is well connected so its easy for me to travel back home on a weekend up to the north, and plus, there are always running local buses to get me to and from places. There are multiple shops and cafes which is great for any student life and nightlife too! Sometimes I think that the prices are higher than in my home town, but there are plenty of initiatives that help students to afford food and rent.

Job opportunities relevant to my course have been a wonderful experience! The Unijob scheme is so helpful in gaining experience for a CV while making some money. Exton Park campus has two cats which like to hang out in the library. A small thing, but it’s always lovely to see them! The worst thing is the parking situation. In previous years, it wasn’t so bad. You could always find a space. This year it’s horrendous. Even at 9am there’s no spaces left and people parking on double yellows/alongside fences. The uni knocked down a study space building and put a massive statue there with loads of empty space around it. Should’ve used that area for more parking.

Support from lecturers is great - they always reply fast and are willing to help in person or online, even if you can’t attend their tutorial hours. Same goes for personal academic tutors, which everyone is assigned. Seminars are relaxed and friendly and classes are max 30 people. I’ve always felt comfortable enough to share my answers/ideas. Sessions are almost always in person which is preferable. Unfortunately English has been somewhat pushed out this year. The Vicarage building is the hub for the department, but the seminar rooms there aren’t ideal due to the seating style. Aside from there, seminars now take place a ten min walk from campus in the Gateway building. The building itself is fine, but I prefer being on main campus as we were for two years.
