Arts and Sciences: Interdisciplinary Problems and Methods - BASc (Hons)

University rating (4)

A community of some of the most interesting and intelligent people I know! The student body is small and eclectic, the international faculty is refreshingly passionate about teaching, and the professional network reaches to every domain I'm aware of to date. I had an incredible experience being a student here and it's set up me for an exciting, varied career. I started as part of the founding cohort in 2022. 65 students, 11 faculty members in a cool building in East London. We were the course guinea pigs which meant we got all of the benefits of 1:1 time with incredible professors who have studied, researched and taught at the top universities, but we also experienced niggles with brand new modules and the learning resources like the lack of a library or quiet space to work. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my degree. It enabled me to explore my existing interests and cultivated many more such as impact investing and surveillance capitalism which I'm confident no other degree could have done for me. This degree, like most others is exactly what you make of it and how much effort you put in. But I would say here, if you chose to do that you'll be 10x rewarded. The LIS network is incredible. They have connections across national government, NGOs, top consulting, banking and real estate firms, investors, entrepreneurs and as part of a small student cohort and graduate, you have unique access and support.

THIRD YEAR
University rating (5)

As a member of the first undergraduate cohort at the London Interdisciplinary School, which began in 2021, I have just completed my studies in June 2024. This journey has been nothing short of transformative. While there were some challenges along the way, which is natural for any new institution, the unwavering support from the faculty and staff made all the difference. Their dedication to our success was reflected in the exceptional amount of time and access they provided, something truly rare in both academia and the professional world. The blend of academic learning with real-world applications has fueled my excitement for the workforce, and I feel fully prepared to take on my next steps with confidence thanks to LIS.
