Overall great uni with great resources but could do with improving quality of some lectures as well as the accommodation for the money charged, there's a good range of courses to do and it is in a prime location (can get to town easily and can also enjoy the almost countryside areas around too), Union is very helpful and have made a huge impact on the uni (such as 24/7 library), GP and counsellor onsite, good overall uni and would recommend but could do with some improvements here and there, see other comments for more details
Brunel is great and I particularly appreciate my lecturers and the fellow students I have met.
Brunel is the best. The course and lecturers are brilliant. The university is so supportive- ASK service in the library is brilliant. Students' Union is really well organised. Large variety of clubs and societies to join.
Met great people and the university is very supportive. Best part of the course is being able to link theory with practice. Interactive seminars are great. Disability service is very supportive and tutorial meetings are good.Met nice people in my accommodation however you pay to stay somewhere you're never at!
Have made so many good friends here. The placement on my course was such a great experience. Due to it being and NHS course - jobs may be found easier as I already have practical experience. Good university facilities. SU is fun- lots of organised activity.
The course is very practical which is really good. As my course is NHS related, I believe that I will have high job prospects, particularly because it also incorporates placements ad practical experience. I lived on campus during my first year- the room was extremely spacious.
Met great people, got the opportunity to participate and try new things and experiences. Really enjoy the practical work on the course. It's an NHS founded course so I'm assuming it won't be hard to get a job working for the NHS. Facilities are good- clean and tidy toilets- cheap and tasty food and free hot water!
Loving my course!!! The SU is brilliant- really fun events and really supportive. Facilities are great. Love going out in London/Uxbridge. Excellent job prospects. If you're thinking about coming here just do it!!!!!
I'm really pleased with my course. The people are friendly and the content is very interesting. University facilities are great, particularly sports. Lots of support available for students. Huge variety of clubs and societies.
Very happy with my university choice. Lots of practical elements on my course. Dance society is so much fun.Accommodation is very good- rooms are quite big compared to others.
Good experience so far. I love getting hands-on experience on my course. The only negatives are that the accommodation is a bit overpriced, considering we have no control over heating... and there's not a great amount of support here.
It's been a really good experience. I'm enjoying the practical learning on my course. The accommodation is overpriced. Can't control when the heating is on!
It's okay... I'm enjoying learning new theories on my course. The Students' Union is very informative. Lots of support available from the university as well.
Positives: Lovely spacious campus, great student support facilities, wide choice of clubs & societies, excellent on campus work opportunities, varied and relevant volunteering opportunities. Negatives: Course (occupational therapy). Very poorly organised, content low quality, assignment feedback provided is inconsistent – which makes it difficult to learn from. Students are asked for their feedback on the course but this is very tokenistic – improvements are not made, students are not taken seriously. Avoid like the plague – Oxford Brookes, South Bank, Brighton – much more appropriate for OT course. Overall – fantastic facilities at this university, but don’t make the same mistake I did – chose a different course! Very popular for engineering and biosciences.
Great facilities, especially in terms of technology such as green screen and motion capture studio. It is convenient, there are new halls. Small campus but easy to get to and good shops and chill places.
Fantastic experiences and a large variety of opportunities both academic and social through societies and clubs. As a first year student I have already exceeded my peers at other universities with life experience and I have a blossoming CV to support this.
Loving my time here, the course is great, theres so much to do and I`ve made so much friends from all over the world. The town and Uni have so much to offer, the Uni really focuses on employability and has plenty of events and facilities to increase your skills for employment
Communication from the university/college to the students is very poor.
I have talked to many people and have had many mixed reviews about Brunel. I think it all boils down to the friends you make (or don't) which comes down to luck e.g. where you are put in terms of accommodation, course mates, etc. and also how good your course and lecturers are. Personally, I had a pretty good time. Initially, as a White person I found it hard to make similar friends as there are primarily Asian and Black students at Brunel. However, joining the Christian Union helped me to connect, as the people in my halls (mainly men) were not really my type of people. Once I had built some solid friendships (which takes time!) I was set up to enjoy uni. My course was ok - quite interesting, but the lecturers seemed to do the bare minimum and not be overly helpful when you emailed them. The standard is high. I'm a straight-A GCSE student and I only barely scraped a 1st with lots of hard work. The campus is great and halls are lovely. Bills are all included and if anything breaks it is typically fixed quickly. The campus security make the place feel safe at night. I do think there could be a few more bars/cafes but that's a minor complaint. I would also have liked a pool on-site. The local area isn't great, but the town centre has 2 shopping centres, cinema, leisure centre, and importantly a tube stop which is the gateway to London, where opportunities are limitless. In terms of job prospects, I've heard mixed things. I haven't found work in my discipline, and I know of others who haven't either. Others have gone on to be successful - particularly in design and engineering, so it's down to the course.

great place pushes for placements which is great and make you more employable. night life is good also raves on campus as well as in the town centre which is only a 5min but ride away.
