Imagine or picture university life as a test where you would have to prove yourself and work hard to get to the highest point of your ambitious life. The prep for uni, started the day you started growing up slowly into the life of a teenager and are not so dependable on your parents anymore, your parents allow you some freedom where you can think for yourself and know what is best for you to some extend. Now once you start uni, though you are not fully adult in most cases (depends on the age you started) you have to do everything on your own; pay bills, provide for yourself and make sure you attend your lectures/classes and are up to date with assignments, because if you do not do it - lecturers and seminar leaders wouldn't really care unless it gets to a point that it has repeated too many times and something needs to be changed. I felt petrified just by the thought because I am somebody that still needs some supervision, I'd prefer somebody making sure I am making the right decision all the time.. but there isn't.
