The support for students and the facilities, such as library, sports centre etc are fantastic. Very knowledgeable tutors on my course!

The MA is delivered completely online and the tutors have been very supportive and easy to contact. The weekly seminars have been very interesting with a supportive and pleasant atmosphere.

I have thoroughly enjoyed, and continue to enjoy, my three years at the University of Portsmouth. For me, a university with buildings dotted around the city help to integrate the students with the city as a whole. It is always buzzing with students in every building; there is always somewhere open and there is always something to do. My course has been met with such supportive lecturers and academic staff, including our faculty librarian who managed to get a possible dissertation text sorted and put through the system for me so quickly. It is easy to make friends what with the halls around the city, induction events for all levels of study and plenty of sports clubs/societies. Whilst some buildings may need some TLC and a fresh lick of paint, overall the study facilities whether it be seating or computers are really good. I do think there needs to be a second library as this tends to have limited seating, especially during the weekdays but on the weekends it is a great place to study and get some work done.

This course is incredible because of the lecturers. They are some of the most supportive educators I have ever come across, and they perfectly balance support with expectations. They wants us as a cohort to do well without facing immense stress and anxiety. They are always up for a conversation even about life outside of the degree. The optional modules in second and third year are varied and exciting, however there could be at least one more option to add even more variety. I enjoy in person lectures and most modules offered this however not all. The seminars are amazing when most students are in attendance as conversations really get going. Feedback on my work has been timely and detailed.

There is a part time jobs board in the careers centre which is great for students that need an extra bit of cash, including the university's ambassador programme which pays quite well. The university bus is free and goes to a lot of the popular spots in the city for academic study, living and entertainment.

I stayed at Trafalgar Hall in first year and it had its good and bad moments. The location was great but if you are facing the nightclub over the road you will not sleep very well due to poor noise cancellation. They needed more laundry facilities but reception staff were very friendly. The room was spacious but some rooms were bigger and yet we all paid the same price. Room allocation was okay and I got on with most of my flatmates. We did have an incident where someone broke into our flat due to a faulty front door lock that, even when reported, was not fixed in a timely way.
