I've just started my course at Manchester Metropolitan University. The University environment and buildings are exceptional. The tutors are really supportive and intellectual. Their way of incorporating interactive discussions during lectures really helping me a lot. So, the experience so far is quite amazing.

The course I'm studying is Applied Linguistics. The reason why I've chosen my course is that it will help me in my career of teaching. The tutors and their way of teaching is exceptional. Pre-reading, classroom discussions, incorporating tasks during lectures and giving reading materials are some of the aspects that I enjoy while studying very much. We can easily contact the tutors to ask any question related to studies.

The location is perfect and the academics are great at making my course engaging. There’s also lots of opportunities to get involved with, through both my course, societies and paid job roles. However, more support to students suffering because of the cost of living crisis should be given - Man Met should follow what UoM are doing for their students.

The course is taught fully in person, which in my opinion is ideal as face to face learning is a much better method than online, speaking from experience. Lecturers are extremely helpful and make the course engaging.

The ensuite was nice but the location seemed slightly sketchy, and right next to the motorway. It wasn’t very modern at all and the corridor had a really strange smell that we noticed when we first moved in, and stayed the whole time. Also mould formed on the bathroom ceiling, but that was dealt with.
