The location is a blessing and a curse, it's in the middle of nowhere which means beautiful scenery and proximity to trees (always a necessity for human life), but the bus routes are not great and it's a 20 minute walk into town if you don't want to get one. The laundry prices are slightly extortionate (£3.70 for a wash and dry) but I expect that's fairly standard. Newcastle-under-lyme is not the nicest place on earth, it is exactly like every other rundown English town, homeless people and dreary cityscape included. I like the uni overall, the people are generally nice and I can see grass and trees from my window. Education is fine too I suppose, but that's never really the important part of uni.

I won't put this lightly - avoid group projects. Business students (other than yours truly and a few others) are lazy and will actively avoid participating, dragging your grade down too. Not to say that you couldn't do the projects solo of course, as the content is at times laughably easy, and made me concerned for the legitimacy of my degree. This is obviously only an experience of first year, and perhaps it is to weed out those who don't work hard, but the content is A-level stuff, taught as if they are revolutionising the business world. I already know what a supply/demand curve is, this isn't "enlightening". The new business building is nice, though.

The surrounding location for Keele (Stoke/Newcastle-under-lyme) is dire, to put it lightly. The prices are decent, though I suspect that to change in the near future, but I have never felt less safe than walking around Hanley at night. Public transport is poor, the bus routes rarely go where you need them, and (and this is a minor thing), you can't buy single tickets for the area on the First bus app, even though you can in other areas where they service. Diversity is a non-issue. Jobs are few and far between, with everyone either fighting for a job on campus (rare) or one of the many restaurants in the area, which inevitably get hundreds of CVs and yours won't be the accepted one.

N block is in a great place on campus, essentially, and is close to most everything you could need. Sometimes you'll have drunk students returning from the SU and being loud outside your window, but it's rare, if irritating. You get a sink. I can't invade people on Elden Ring with the wifi connection, but for the rest of online gaming it works just fine. Get about a 4-6mb down when downloading.
