It's been a great 2 years, and I've gone striaight into a job. Never thought that would happen when I started! Looking back, I think the best thing about the programme is that it mirrors real life, you get out what you put in. I'm surprised how much I know now. The students who didn't like it were the people who didn't really throw themselves into every film, every project. But mostly, you just get to do things you'd never get to do outside of here - be involved in making a feature film, a multicamera production, and lots of films and stuff. I had great tutors - some of them are really challenging, some pretty gentle, but they all seem to want the students to succeed as much as we do, and because they work in the industry, they really know their stuff. I'm glad I went there.

The good thing about the met is that they give you the tools you need to be able to work independently; and like in the industry- your progression and learning experience will depend on you, your motivation and passion.
In each course there is a significant number of international students which I thought was great socially and professionally because I got to learn from my friends about how films are being made around the world.
I took the cinematography route where I feel like I gained not only technical skills, but also developed creative thinking is different roles in the camera department. The tutors are industry professionals which -because of the school's resources - will teach you how to use industry standard equipment. A nice extra was we learned how to work on 16/35mm film cameras which I personally really enjoyed!
Since we were 15 people in our group, the tutors were able to personally respond to each student's needs according to his level of progress.
Although I was in the cinematography class, I took other courses during the BA that I was interested in like TV production, documentary filmmaking, short film production...
The school has a family feel to it and I felt tutors and staff are very approachable, and since the school is quite new, they care about your feedback and will give space for new initiatives.
I recently finished my course and I'm still in touch with the Met through Met-Go which links graduates to work opportunities and offers interesting paid projects.
