My experience at De Montfort University has been really positive overall. The best part is the friendly and diverse community everyone is welcoming, and lecturers are approachable, supportive, and genuinely care about student success. The campus facilities, library, and student support services are excellent, making it a great environment for both studying and personal growth. Leicester’s location also adds to the experience, with everything close by and plenty of opportunities through the Students’ Union for part-time work, volunteering, and events. However, communication between departments could be better, especially with timetables and coursework updates. Some courses could also include more hands-on, industry-related projects to prepare students for real-world challenges. Overall, DMU is an inclusive and inspiring place to study that encourages confidence, creativity, and development with a few improvements, it could be even better.

The best part of my course is the supportive and knowledgeable lecturers who make even complex topics easier to understand. The course is well-structured, combining theory with practical applications, and the in-class teaching helps build strong technical and problem-solving skills. I also appreciate the approachable staff and the opportunity to ask questions or get feedback whenever needed. However, a few areas could be improved. Sometimes communication about deadlines or timetable changes isn’t very clear, and certain modules could include more practical or industry-based projects to give us real-world experience. Overall, it’s a well-taught and engaging course that helps students grow academically and professionally.
