Who can apply for the The Newtons Undergraduate Scholarship in Mathematics?
The Newtons Undergraduate Scholarship in Mathematics has been established by Paul and Jenny Newton, both of whom studied Mathematics at the University of Surrey.
This scholarship will support one undergraduate student with their studies at the University of Surrey by providing £12,000 (£4,000 per academic year for up to three years of study). An additional £1,000 will be given should a Professional Training Year be taken.
This scholarship is designed to support students studying specific courses, which are listed in the eligibility criteria.
The terms of the scholarship listed above are at the discretion of the donor and may be subject to change before awarding.
To apply for this scholarship, the applicant must:
Be a Home/UK student.
Be a first-year student studying one of the following degrees at the University of Surrey (please note that any students who will be in a Foundation Year during 2026/27 are not eligible):
Have a household income of less than £35,000.
