Are you ready to shape stories and strategies that drive brands and influence audiences? Our Public Relations MA/MSc aims to develop practitioners with the advanced practical skills to transform bold ideas into impactful campaigns and a deep understanding of PR as a strategic and creative discipline.
You can choose from two distinct but complementary pathways, gearing your studies to creativity, storytelling and cultural insight on the MA, or to data, analytics and evidence-based approaches on the MSc – signalling your personal interests to potential employers.
Both pathways blend practice with theory, putting you at the cutting-edge of industry demands, and preparing you for fast-paced in-house and agency PR and marketing roles. Taught by experienced PR practitioners and academics, you will learn how to develop creative campaigns in response to practice briefs set by well-known brands, and create content for a range of media. You will also study corporate reputation, crisis communications and discover the role of PR in today’s global society. Choosing from a range of optional modules, you will be able to gain specialist knowledge in advertising planning, the work of influencers, podcast production, or the transformative impact and ethics of AI.
Studying mainly in central London, you’ll benefit from being at the heart of the UK’s PR industry, while also having access to Westminster’s dynamic creative hub in Harrow, with its advanced media facilities such as our state-of-the-art podcasting studios.
This flexible course will enable you to play to your strengths – whether bringing brands to life through creative storytelling, analysing media trends through AI – and make a real impact in today’s PR landscape.
A minimum of an upper second class honours degree (2:1) or a lower second class honours degree (2:2) and substantial relevant work experience. Professional qualifications or substantial appropriate work experience may be acceptable.
Applicants must submit a 300-word essay analysing the external communication challenges of a known organisation and proposing improvements.
