This postgraduate programme integrates the clinical, academic and research components of cardiorespiratory physiotherapy practice. The emphasis is on the management of patients with cardiorespiratory disorders. Flexibility in selection of modules allows you to focus on your particular interests where relevant. This MSc offers you the opportunity to extend your understanding of key areas in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, including challenging the foundations of established but poorly justified treatments, developing and undertaking clinical research. You will learn about new and emerging treatment options and benefit from the mentorship of recognised experts in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy. Modules run over five to six consecutive working days. Full-time students generally take four modules per term. Part-time and modular/flexible students take one to three modules per term.

The programme provides you with the knowledge and skills for a career in academia or research. You can also use this postgraduate qualification to pursue senior positions within your career field.

Employability

This programme aims to transform the way you think about expert patient care, and the theoretical foundation for cardiorespiratory physiotherapy clinical practice. The programme provides you with a rigorous, evidence-based training in best research and clinical practice. You will gain skills relevant to clinical, educational or research posts in physiotherapy.
