This degree aims to provide you with an understanding of a range of central philosophical debates together with a detailed education in art history. All major areas of philosophy are available for study. In the History of Art part of the course, you will address issues about the very nature of art and human perception of visual culture. On the Philosophy side, the programme provides the opportunity to cover political philosophy, examining questions about the state, liberty and laws moral philosophy, questioning distinctions of right and wrong, and our motivation for choosing between the two epistemology which investigates the nature of knowledge and belief metaphysics, which attempts to grasp the nature of things and logic, which imparts principles of sound reasoning.UCL is one of the most exciting places to study history of art in the country. Through this programme you will develop your knowledge and understanding of the visual arts and material culture, covering a wide range of visual imagery and making use of London's extensive public collections, libraries, museums and architecture.
