The physiotherapy related research at Keele is aimed at: Optimising Independence and Quality of Life, Health and Exercise Programmes, Measurement and Modelling, Service Evaluation. The group also encompasses members who are part of the National Physiotherapy Research Network. The NPRN, funded by the CSP for a 5 year period, aims to encourage and facilitate engagement in physiotherapy research nationally. The network endeavours to encourage growth in the numbers of researchers involved in physiotherapy research, as well as increase the amount of research produced – and its integration and implementation into practice. All appropriate resources and services access required to support this research is available within the School of Health and Rehabilitation and collaborating organisations (other HEI and Industry). Much of our research is based at the patient interface and therefore most measurement devices are portable. Please contact appropriate staff with project specific enquiries. A team of experienced researchers supervise the research activities within this group. Peer support is available via interactions with other post-graduate researchers in the School of Allied Health Professions and Pharmacy and the School of Medicine. In particular, we encourage applications for PhD Physiotherapy in the fields of neurological rehabilitation, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, active living / sport / cardio-respiratory physiotherapy, and lower limb rehabilitation.
PhD Honours degree with a first or 2.1 classifications, or the equivalent if you have been educated outside the UK.
