This course is for those who work with children with literacy difficulties in primary and secondary schools. It is ideal for experienced teachers and graduate teaching assistants.

This course is accredited by the British Dyslexia Association. It includes the supervised teaching and assessment work to meet the criteria for Accredited Teacher/Practitioner Status (ATS/APS) in Year 1 and Associate Membership of the BDA (AMBDA) in Year 2. If you meet the criteria for AMBDA you can also apply for an Assessment Practicing Certificate (APC). You will then be able to assess children for dyslexia. You can apply for these accreditations for an additional administration fee to the BDA.
A degree in a relevant subject area and at least 2 years experience of working with children and young people (CYP) with literacy difficulties. This course is not available to students classed as International for fees purposes.
