The best aspect is simultaneously the worse aspect which is the content. What could be improved is the African department in history as it virtually doesn’t exist. I think more needs to be done to promote African studies.

The people are really nice and the teaching is good. But the administration could be improved as we get late notice to everything.

The best aspect of my university experience is how cosmopolitan and diverse my campus is. There are a plethora of voices, which gives me a chance to immerse myself into a newer culture. And I especially love how expansive the library is, how deeply it embodies diversity and the coloured experience.

The student body consists of many people from many places and perspectives. Unfortunately it is unceasingly clear that the administration cares little for maintaining this diversity: African studies have been ruthlessly cut and the opportunities to study the languages that soas is famous for are always decreasing. Furthermore they terribly mistreat the cleaning staff and the facilities are often filthy as a result. On top of all this, for fear of student action against all of these policies, they have hired massive numbers of security guards that make the campus feel like a prison, and make getting to class from one building to another a hassle (you have to pull out your ID card multiple times, and if you are a student of color or wear alternative clothing are much more likely to be harassed).

SOAS is well renouned for it's humanities rather than what I am studying so I don't rate my job prospects to be too high. The clubs ans societies are great but it would be good if there was more money available to the societites.
