Degree overview
The MA Sports Agency degree is designed for those who wish to build the knowledge and skills needed for a successful career in the football industry as intermediaries and sports agents. With a focus on regulations, ethics, integrity, business practices, and legal frameworks in the sports agent profession, students will analyse critical issues in the industry throughout the programme. Students will benefit from the support of our Global Careers Manager and Employability and Career Planning team, who will help you create a career plan and tap into our extensive agent network for career opportunities, placements, and professional project identification.
Degree content
This Masters degree equips students with the knowledge and skills essential for a thriving career as sports intermediaries and agents, advancing their learning and understanding of the industry. Throughout the program, students will delve into pivotal issues within the field, including athlete and agency management, regulations and governance, and sports media management. Utilising our extensive sports industry network and our Global Careers Team, students will receive exposure and support to develop a plan for progression into the industry.
Our Distance courses are instructed by the same distinguished industry professionals who also teach our traditional on-campus courses. These courses are delivered through our GIS Online Hub, ensuring flexibility by offering round-the-clock accessibility to accommodate your existing responsibilities.

Standard entry requirements: Undergraduate degree - minimum 2:2 (ideally a 2:1) or international equivalent. Applicants with a 2:2 should have some experience of studying or working in business or sports related areas. Flexible entry requirements: We welcome applications from those who do not meet the standard entry requirements but can demonstrate relevant education and/or work and/or life experience in the course subject area that will enable them to succeed on the course. This may include those that have been out of education for some time and/or who do not have an undergraduate degree. We will assess your eligibility from the information provided in your application – in particular your personal statement - to help us decide on your eligibility for the course.
