Degrees are designed to launch students into the forefront of industry, and 99% of GIS graduates find work within nine months of completing their degree.
GIS works with an extensive network of sports partners to provide paid work experience and internship opportunities. Many study programmes offer opportunities to work, train, and study around the world.

Courses and lecturers
In 2025, the Global Institute of Sport offers three study programmes at undergraduate level:

At GIS, students are taught to master the sports industry. Teaching and learning takes place online via distance learning, enabling the institution’s truly global cohort to access exclusive talks from industry-experienced lecturers and high-profile sportspeople. Students also have the option to study any programme online whilst training and playing football full-time at the GIS Dubai Academy. This is delivered in partnership with The Player, offering a unique opportunity to combine elite football development with academic study in Dubai.
Unique international partnerships allow students to gain global work experience and study opportunities. Students who are looking to progress into postgraduate study to further deepen their understanding of the field will find that GIS offers a comprehensive of study programmes for this purpose, with both online, ‘distance with attendance’, and on-campus options available.

Students must meet the academic entry requirements for their chosen study programme at the Global Institute of Sport. Entry requirements may vary between courses and students are advised to carefully check they meet the criteria prior to application.
For GIS undergraduate programmes, the general entry requirements are: A minimum of 96 UCAS tariff points (or international equivalent)Maths and English GCSE at minimum grade C (or 4)
Applications will also be considered on a case-by-case basis for students who do not meet the UCAS tariff point requirements, but who have relevant industry experience or professional qualifications.
English language requirements
International students must be able to demonstrate their English language proficiency in order to be accepted onto a study programme at the Global Institute of Sport.
At undergraduate level, the standard requirement is an overall IELTS Academic score of 6.0, with no lower than 5.5 in any band. Equivalent qualifications are also accepted.
The majority of learning at the Global Institute of Sport takes place online via its distance learning platform. As such, GIS does not provide its own accommodation.

GIS offers three study programmes at undergraduate level:
BA (Hons) Football Coaching
This degree provides an informative overview into coaching techniques, scouting and recruitment, psychology, nutrition and talent development. Students gain an understanding and awareness of all areas of the game and develop the skills and knowledge needed for a competitive career in football coaching.
BA (Hons) Sports Management
This dynamic degree develops students’ skills in sports marketing, management and governance. Students gain deep insights into the business of sport and the ways in which the industry moves, while also confronting real-world challenges and developing essential soft skills for business success.
Certificate of Higher Education in Football Coaching
This course combines theory and practice to provide an introduction to football coaching and talent development. Upon successful completion, credits can be transferred inro the BA Football Coaching for students who wish to further progress their education.
GIS does not offer a students’ union in the traditional format. However, every course does feature a designated course representative. This person is a nominated student who advocates for students enrolled on the course and acts as a point of contact between the student body and academic staff.
Clubs and Societies
Due to the online nature of study programmes, GIS does not offer in-person clubs and societies. Launched in 2025, GIS’s Women’s Society ‘Spark’ already boasts over 50 members, a committee of 8 spanning 3 countries, and members from 14 different nations.

Fees
Students at the Global Institute of Sport must pay tuition fees. For undergraduate students studying in the 2025/26 academic year, these are £9,535 per year. This price does not include any additional costs such as travel or accommodation for any residential periods. Fees are subject to change.
