You have the flexibility to customise your degree by selecting from a range of pathways and optional modules that align with your career aspirations and interests.You'll learn about Law using real-life situations and get to dig deeper into specific topics from inquests and criminal law to human rights and law in popular culture.As part of this course you will have the opportunity to spend time in our Student Law Office, where you will work with legal professionals, gaining essential skills for your future career. You'll deepen your understanding of specific legal areas and learn how to apply this knowledge in various situations. Plus, you'll refine your analytical, thinking, and communication skills, crucial for the modern workplace, under expert guidance.This course will equip you with transferable skills and prepare you for a multitude of career paths. For example, if you aspire to become a solicitor or barrister, you can transition seamlessly into one of our M Law pathways before you finish your undergraduate degree. With this additional year of study, you'll graduate with the knowledge and skills required for the next steps in your chosen profession.


Extended Degree

This extended degree provides an alternative route to higher education and supports those who don’t meet the standard entry requirements for an undergraduate degree. It includes a foundation year where you will explore a wide range of topics taken from across the real-world subject areas such as history, literature, language and linguistics, creative writing and American studies.


What will I learn in my Foundation Year?

In your foundation year you will develop your knowledge of the theory and practice of law. You will also have an opportunity to learn effective academic writing, analytical skills, interpersonal communication, and the ability to work in teams. The main attribute you need to bring is curiosity.The foundation year of the course delivered at level 3 which develops your ability to study in Higher Education is not accredited. Subsequent levels and years are accredited and deliver the knowledge, competencies, and skills required to meet the specific course accreditation requirements that relate to the approved accredited award title.
