Course overview
If you want to build your knowledge and experience of international business and strategic management for your career as a future business manager, then this international management course is for you.
You focus on international aspects of business, gaining contemporary knowledge and insights into the global marketplace. This includes international business practices, leading in a cross-cultural environment and developing global operations.
Enhance your career in our internationally-connected, industry-facing business school. You explore the challenges facing global business including sustainability, technological disruption, and strategic change management. And gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours to develop entrepreneurial attitudes and drive innovation, ensuring business takes a leading role in providing solutions to societal challenges.
The applied element allows you to develop practice-based solutions to real-world problems. You take on a consultancy role, working on projects or internships, identifying opportunities and ideas, before going on to present strategic solutions to the client. You develop personal and professional knowledge, skills and behaviours through a process of self-reflection on your practice.
How you are assessed
The programme assessment strategy has been designed to assess your subject specific knowledge, cognitive and intellectual skills and transferable skills applicable to the workplace. The strategy ensures that you are provided with formative assessment opportunities throughout the programme which support your summative assessments. The overall assessment load has been balanced to prevent, as far as possible, bunching of assessments.
The assessments will include assignments, business reports, case studies, presentations, research proposal and literature review, and the production of a dissertation. The assessments may include individual or group essays or reports.
The assessment criteria, where appropriate, will include assessment of presentation skills and report writing.
Career opportunities
You graduate with the knowledge, experience and confidence to succeed in a management role on a global scale. You acquire a unique mix of skills to work in roles including global strategic management, leadership and management, strategic marketing management, managing people, operations, and finance, or you could even strike out in business on your own.
The normal entry requirement is one of the following: an honours degree (at least a 2:2); a post-experience or professional qualification; equivalent qualifications (including international qualifications).
