Newcastle University

Newcastle uni is an amazing place to study. It's in a great location as you're never far from town and it has plent to offer (including a good night life). The uni itself is brilliant with cozy and practicle study spaces in pretty much every building, a great library in an easy to find and access location, a really inclusive students union with plenty to offer and good support for students which is well advertised and easy to access. The uni offered accomodations are all great too and always have the friendliest staff. The uni (and accomodations) also have decent wifi though with so many people accessing it sometimes the signal can be a bit patchy or take a little longer than ususal to connect too.

Facilities itself are great such as library and connections to the museum for my degree specifically, social life is also prominent and busy at all times. There’s a student society and community for everyone.

The student union has a Wetherspoons which is a big plus. It’s a central location which is also great and the library has everything. However the course itself is boring and very hard to be engaged with. Beyond that having attendance be mandatory is very annoying especially if you are being monitored for modules that are optional or you have no interest in and could do much better things with that free time.

The university have been really helpful with helping us to move in and also having helpful reception staff, 24 hour security and maintenance that fix things quickly. The university feels very safe and is in a good location.

I really enjoy Newcastle University for the friendly staff and students. I probably couldn't comment much on the Students Union as I do not use it often but Student Support, especially the Health and Wellbeing support has been incredible for me, helping me in a time of bereavement. I really recommend this university for people who are looking for a friendly environment!
