Innovate and influence positive change in the design of clothes and put your creative ideas into practice through this fashion design degree that provides a dynamic and questioning environment to engage your creativity. You'll gain an understanding of who you are as a designer, what you offer and why it's relevant while developing knowledge of consumer connection with colour, pattern, and material. The course keeps you updated on industry changes and traditional heritage craft methods through collaboration and problem-based learning projects that investigate sustainable and ethical decision making. The BA Fashion Department prioritizes sustainability by using donated fabrics that would otherwise go to waste, which you'll have exclusive access to for your creative development. Supported by industry-experienced academic, technical, and research staff, you'll learn from a curriculum based on market intelligence from industry partners, ensuring your skillset remains relevant to today's evolving job market. As a member of leading fashion organizations (United Kingdom Fashion and Textiles, British Fashion Council, and Graduate Fashion Week), you'll access members-only bursaries, placements, jobs, and events while having opportunities to present your professional portfolio and work on live industry projects. You'll work with a local vintage clothing archive featuring garments from the Victorian era to the 1980s to contextualize ideas and style photoshoots. Note that we regularly review courses to ensure quality, and this program is regulated in England by the Office for Students (OfS).
