MEng Hons Engineering Management is a five-year, fully CEng accredited, engineering course that is designed to equip you with a valuable blend of engineering and business skills. You will study a wide range of subjects that explore topics such as engineering technology and materials, manufacturing systems and processes, new product design and mechanical engineering, as well as studies in business and management.MEng Engineering Management graduates work in a wide range of companies and positions to manage the introduction of advanced technologies and production systems, innovative design methods and products, and to lead the way in how our scarce, valuable resources are best used.The course develops your skills in analysis, problem solving and design, as well as valuable professional skills in communications, teamwork and project management. The course includes a year-long paid industrial placement during your third year. This allows you to experience and participate in real-life engineering projects and learn how theory relates to practice. Successful completion of the placement leads to the award of the Diploma in Professional Practice (DPP) upon graduation. There are options throughout the course to study subjects of particular interest to you or your career aspirations.Graduates from this course are in very high demand not only in manufacturing industry but are also employed in utilities, transportation, primary industries, consultancy and business.
