The MSc Criminology and Criminal Justice degree gives you the opportunity to study both theoretical and applied criminology at an advanced level to use the knowledge, skills and understanding gained to engage critically, innovatively and independently with contemporary issues in criminal justice. Students gain a critical understanding of how key theories, concepts and empirical findings are used to create and interpret knowledge within the study of crime and criminal justice. Key issues debated include policing, crime prevention, rehabilitation and punishment.
You should normally hold a relevant Honours degree at 2:2 or above in any of the following subjects: social science, medicine, health, law, or social work, though applicants with a degree in another discipline or other professional training or experience relevant to course specialisms will also be considered, and in order to demonstrate academic ability you will be required to complete written work and may be invited to attend an interview prior to acceptance.
