The first year of the programme is designed to equip you with a broad and varied grounding in modern biochemistry. You will explore the structure and function of biological molecules, core chemical concepts and their application to the biological sciences, human physiology and anatomy, and molecular cell biology.Building on this foundation, you will continue to expand your skillset by examining the application of biochemistry to topics such as modern drug discovery and tackling wider ...Read more

The first year of the programme is designed to equip you with a broad and varied grounding in modern biochemistry. You will explore the structure and function of biological molecules, core chemical concepts and their application to the biological sciences, human physiology and anatomy, and molecular cell biology.

Building on this foundation, you will continue to expand your skillset by examining the application of biochemistry to topics such as modern drug discovery and tackling wider environmental and societal issues. In your final year you can choose from a wide variety of optional modules in areas of
cutting-edge bioscience research. You will also have the opportunity to unleash your creativity by undertaking a substantial piece of meaningful research on a topic that excites and challenges you. Your research project is an excellent opportunity for you to draw together skills in experimental study design, critical interpretation of data, presentation and project management.
